Mississauga Celebration Square

Our design consolidated the Civic and Library Squares into a single space that is welcoming, accessible, and accommodating to Mississauga's growing and diverse population. Juxtaposing intimate spaces with large, open areas, the square is defined by an elegant allée of trees interspersed with café-style seating, and a flexible open lawn. The large water feature becomes a skating rink in the winter and can be transformed into an event square when needed. Celebration Square revitalized a suburban downtown, encouraging residents to stay in Mississauga to enjoy entertainment locally.
